The Marco Island Shell Club is a friendly and dedicated 501(c)(3) non-profit organization for shell enthusiasts at all levels of interest and expertise. The Club season, which begins in November and continues through March of the next year, includes weekly Tuesday morning shell art workshops, which culminate in the annual Shell Show in March. Evening seminars, varied excursions, a shell hunt and picnic, and the annual Thank You Dinner round out the season.
Our mission is to promote the study, conservation, history, and science of seashells and mollusks, and to encourage shell-related interests, such as shell collecting, crafting and shell art.
The video below highlights the club’s 2014-2015 season of shell art workshops, concluding with the three-day Shell Show in March, and the scholarships and grants which are funded by the proceeds.
